The Pam243 has a 24mm lug size (strap width), so would it be possible to install a 26mm strap onto the 44mm watch? The answer is Yes !
You would first need to sand the tip off a little, or simply press the strap to soften up the leather. Either way, it’s leather versus metal, and we all know who the winner would be ! In our short video, the leather was so soft all we had to do was squeeze it a bit and it fit right in between the lugs.
The extra width makes the strap look even more “vintage”, so this oversized approach is more suitable on the “vintage” straps. The clean colourful preppy strap is best suited with the exact fitting, it simply feels more right in our opinion. We did a short comparison at the end of the video.
